Commencing with our Pirate Kick-Off Party on Friday 10th November, get up close to our pirate crews and ready your sea legs for the days of celebrations ahead.

Saturday 11th November begins with the hilariously funny Cardboard Regatta and the jaw dropping spectacle of the pirate landing and float parade. As pirates fight their way on shore, can the Red Coats protect the Governor from his inevitable capture? and the infamous Pirates Week Food Festival, where every conceivable local flavour is available for you to savour. The firework spectacle over Harbour Drive will thrill the crowds, as a veritable feast of local live bands and entertainers will keep your toes tapping until the early hours. Throw in the colour, energy and plumage of carnival and this becomes the powerhouse of festival evenings and street entertainment.

On Monday bright and early the runners and walkers take to the streets with the Pirates 5k Run/Walk through George Town and then in the afternoon the swimmers enjoy the calm waters in the Harbour ½ mile sea swim.
On Thursday 16th November, we bring it back to Central George Town with the sweet sounds of the Steel Pans with “Pan in de City” and a food truck festival sure to leave your mouth-watering into the night.

Friday 17th November, we start the morning with releasing several yearling turtles back into the wild blue from Governor’s Beach and finishing with our famous Block Party as the sounds of soca music fill the night. As Saturday 18th November rolls in we begin to wind down the Grand Cayman week with a Children’s Play Area hosted by Inclusion Cayman while the waterfront fills again to witness the infamous Trial of the Pyrates – will the Governor issue a pardon or lock those Pirates up for good? We enjoy the night with musical acts on the Mainstage, while the skies light up with the fireworks.

On Sunday 19th November we make sure the beaches are spic and span with the annual Pirates against plastic Beach cleanup and then take a trip to the Cayman Islands Turtle Centre for the Pirates Week Family Fun Day. All while the divers end the day with an Underwater Treasure hunt with the Sunset Divers.

Find out more about the rich culture and heritage of the islands and enjoy the fun stops and activities along the way. Bringing the Grand Cayman festivities to a close, whatever your age, whatever your genre, the Pirates Week Festival 2023 has something for everyone tightly packed into these six days.
